Mahindra is going all-in on electric, and the excitement is real. The homegrown auto giant has confirmed plans to launch six new electric vehicles, all built on a brand-new EV platform. The announcement was made by Mahindra Group CEO and MD, Anish Shah, and it signals a major expansion in the company’s electric game.
Mahindra’s SUV Game Is Stronger Than Ever
In the SUV world, Mahindra is already a front-runner. It now commands a 27.3% revenue market share, up by 570 basis points compared to the same time last year. Even better, total SUV sales went up by 22% in the first quarter of FY26.
The story is similar in the light commercial vehicle (LCV) segment under 3.5 tonnes. Mahindra leads here too, with a 54.2% market share, a jump of 340 basis points year-on-year.
Tractor Power and Focused Growth
Let’s not forget Mahindra’s tractor division — the brand’s financial backbone. It continues to dominate with a 45.2% market share. But Shah says the focus is now shifting. Instead of racing for more market share, Mahindra is putting more energy into operational efficiency and timely delivery.
Strong Profits Across the Board
The company reported a ₹4,083 crore profit after tax for the April–June quarter of FY26 — a solid 24% increase over last year. Both auto and farm sectors grew profits by 20%, while Mahindra Finance saw a 15% rise in assets under management.
Across its businesses, Mahindra’s numbers are holding steady. Shah also cleared the air on one thing: no split planned between the agri and auto divisions — at least for now.
