Get ready, motorcycle enthusiasts! Honda is gearing up to launch its brand-new all-electric motorcycle, set for an official reveal on September 2. While we’re all waiting for the big day, Honda has already teased the new EV through a short video on its social media channels, giving us a sneak peek at the heavily camouflaged bike.

What We Know About Honda’s New Electric Bike

Honda is no stranger to the electric vehicle (EV) market, having already launched small-capacity electric scooters in India. However, this new electric motorcycle marks a leap forward in their EV plans. The company hasn’t confirmed if the new electric bike will be available in India just yet, and given Honda’s focus on affordable EVs for the Indian market, it’s unclear if we’ll see it anytime soon.

From the teaser, it’s clear that the bike shares similarities with the EV Fun concept Honda unveiled last October. If you’re wondering what kind of performance to expect, here’s the exciting part: this electric motorcycle will offer the power and performance comparable to a 500cc petrol bike. That means we’re likely looking at around 50 bhp of power, and with it being an electric bike, expect the torque to be even higher for that instant acceleration we love from EVs.

In terms of design, Honda’s new electric motorcycle looks sleek and modern, with several high-tech features that we’ve come to expect from cutting-edge electric vehicles. One of the most prominent features highlighted in the teaser is the large digital TFT instrument cluster. This high-resolution display will likely provide the rider with all the necessary information, such as speed, battery levels, range, and more, in a clear and user-friendly format.

Another noticeable design element is the presence of prominent Daytime Running Lights (DRLs) at the front. DRLs are a key safety feature, ensuring that the bike remains visible even in bright daylight, enhancing rider visibility on the road. The teaser also reveals clip-on handlebars and bar-end mirrors, which suggest a sporty riding posture. The overall riding position appears to be relatively neutral but with a slight sporty edge, making it suitable for both city commuting and spirited weekend rides.

Perhaps one of the most exciting aspects of the bike’s design is the inclusion of a single-sided swingarm. This unique design choice not only looks visually striking but also improves handling and stability, especially when riding at higher speeds or during sharp turns. The single-sided swingarm is often seen in high-performance motorcycles, and its inclusion in this electric bike hints at Honda’s commitment to delivering a top-tier riding experience.

Fast Charging and More

One feature that stands out is the CCS2 charging port, which will allow for fast charging—something typically seen in electric cars. This means you’ll be able to juice up your bike in no time, making it perfect for those who want to ride longer distances without the long wait.

As we countdown to the big unveiling, expect more details about this electric motorcycle to drop in the coming weeks. For now, Honda’s first electric bike, the E-VO, is already on the market, offering two battery pack options (4.1 kWh and 6.3 kWh) with a range of 120 km and 170 km, respectively.
