Nostalgic Yet Modern Design
The Kinetic DX Electric retains the iconic look of the original 2-stroke Kinetic DX but with a fresh, contemporary spin. With its all-metal body panels and sleek, modern touches, the scooter looks stylish and appealing. The LED headlamp, DRL, three-spoke alloy wheels, and neat Kinetic branding give it a modern-retro vibe. Available in five vibrant colors—Red, Blue, Black, Grey, and White—there’s a color to match every personality!
Performance and Battery Pack
Under the hood, the Kinetic DX Electric offers impressive performance. The DX Plus variant gets a 4.8kW motor, while the standard DX gets a slightly smaller 4.7kW motor. Both variants are powered by a 2.5kWh IP67-rated battery pack, offering a range of up to 116 km for the DX Plus and 102 km for the DX. The top speed reaches 90 km/h for the DX Plus and 80 km/h for the regular DX. Charging times are also impressive, with the battery reaching 50% in just 2 hours, 80% in 3 hours, and fully charged in 4 hours.
Robust Underpinnings
The DX Electric is built on a steel tubular frame, ensuring a sturdy and reliable ride. It’s equipped with a telescopic fork up front and a rear twin shock absorber with preload adjustability. The scooter rides on 12-inch alloy wheels with 100-section tires, and a disc brake at the front paired with a drum brake at the rear. It also features CBS (combined braking system) for added safety.
Features and Technology
The Kinetic DX Electric is packed with modern features. Both variants come with full-LED lighting, including a unique K-shaped DRL on the front apron. The 8.8-inch LCD display provides essential ride info, while the DX Plus variant adds some smart features like anti-theft alert, vehicle tracking, and ride data analysis. The DX Electric also offers keyless entry, reverse mode, cruise control, and auto-opening footpegs for added convenience. With three ride modes—Range, Power, and Turbo—along with regenerative braking, a spacious 37-litre underseat storage, and a USB charging port, it’s a tech-laden scooter ready for everyday use.
Price, Warranty, and Availability
The Kinetic DX Electric scooter is now available for bookings, with deliveries expected to begin in September 2025. The DX is priced at ₹1,11,499, while the DX Plus variant is priced at ₹1,17,499 (both ex-showroom). Kinetic is offering a solid 3-year/30,000 km warranty, which can be extended to 9 years or 1,00,000 km. However, note that only 35,000 units will be produced initially, so act fast if you want to secure one!
A New Chapter for the Iconic DX
The original Kinetic DX was a game-changer when it launched in 1984, quickly becoming a favorite among youngsters. Now, with its electric counterpart, the DX Electric aims to capture the hearts of a new generation—youngsters who now have families of their own. It’s the perfect time to bring back the beloved DX, but this time with zero emissions and plenty of features to make family rides more enjoyable. The Kinetic DX Electric will face stiff competition from popular electric scooters like the TVS iQube, Bajaj Chetak, and Ather 450X.
